The Director of Finance - Foundation is responsible for directing the operations. This role provides strategic oversight and maintains financial integrity. Accountable for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Performs duties as a liaison between the foundation and the hospital. This position functions more like a manager level role. The individual must be willing to roll up their sleeves at times and dive into the ledger if required. Flexibility to do what is needed to get the job done is crucial.
Key Responsibilities: Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, workflows, etc., for the area. Implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals. Stays current with the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars and workshops. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls to promote adherence with applicable laws and regulations. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure a proper understanding. Develops and monitors annual budgets to ensure necessary funds for departmental goals. Implements and revises annual goals and objectives that support overall missions. Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees. Makes recommendations for disciplinary actions to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.
Skills and Special Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines. Ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms. Demonstrated ability to coach and influence for results. Strong leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong analytical and reasoning skills. Ability to lead major organizational initiatives and achieve measurable outcomes. Must be able to work in challenging situations involving competing interests and high-level interdisciplinary groups. Strong attention to detail and the ability to think independently. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as well as statutory accounting principles and practices. Proficient computer, accounting software, and Microsoft Office skills.
