
Overview
The Human Resources Specialist will help support various functions of the HR department and take responsibility for a number of projects and tasks related to onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration as well as other general HR duties. Responsibilities
Assist the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees. Participate in benefits administration, including employee questions, distribution of materials, working with benefit brokers and assisting with reporting. Take the lead on supporting internal wellness & social engagement initiatives. Review time off requests and perform time off audits. Review and complete employment verification requests for current employees. Update and maintain HR administrative databases. Support HR file compliance responsibilities Responsible for onboarding of new employees/contractors, including new hire orientations and the collection of paperwork such as I9 documentation and signed employment documents. Assist in pre-employment processes such as sending out offer letters and proper documents for background checks and drug testing, as needed Conduct Social Media Scans for each new hire and review background check materials for any red flags in the new hire’s profile. Research and draft company policies and procedures as needed. Assist with HR related questions for RouteOne employees regarding onboarding, offboarding benefits, and policies. Responsible for offboarding processes including exit interviews, system and access terminations and related audits. Serve as backup for Office Administrator as needed for facility and office support related services. Provide support and guidance to the Office Administrator in planning companywide events including holiday celebrations and employee appreciation events. Complete ad-hoc projects such as data analytics, report generation, HR vendor selection, etc. Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility. Knowledge
Basic knowledge of Human Resources principles, procedures, and best practices. Experience working with a diverse workforce is a strong plus. Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. Abilities
Self-starter with a professional, friendly demeanor. Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as strong attention to detail. Ability to work with all levels of staff and management. Ability to exercise sound judgment and develop creative solutions. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Team player who can work collaboratively with all company departments. Ability to quickly process and analyze complex situations. Commitment to professionalism and strong business ethics. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information with discretion and a high level of trust. Impeccable follow up and closure. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Other Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred.
