Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager – Northeast US is responsible for driving sales growth across the Northeastern US market through an established network of manufacturers’ sales agencies. This role requires proven experience in the architectural and decorative lighting industry, strong relationships within the A&D (Architects & Designers) community, and the ability to effectively manage agency performance nationwide. The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with external sales agencies, inside sales, and customer service teams to expand market presence, achieve annual sales objectives, and strengthen relationships with key specification partners. Residence in the New York Metropolitan area is required to support effective travel and regional market coverage. Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth across the region through the established manufacturers’ sales agency network in alignment with overall company goals and objectives. Manage, support, and motivate assigned sales agencies to ensure consistent brand representation and strong performance throughout the region. Travel regularly within the territory to provide effective sales coverage, market development, and relationship management. Conduct joint sales calls with agency specification sales teams and provide ongoing product and application training. Call on Architects, Interior Designers, Lighting Designers, and other key influencers within the A&D community to promote products and secure specifications. Actively follow up on quotations, specifications, and sales opportunities to maximize conversion and project success. Achieve or exceed annual sales targets and regional objectives. Coordinate closely with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure efficient support of sales agencies and customers. Attend and support regional trade shows, local agency events, IES activities, and other industry-related functions. Manage administrative responsibilities including call reports, expense reports, forecasting, CRM updates, and assigned projects. Key Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in lighting sales. Lighting industry experience is required, including experience working with manufacturers’ sales agencies. Established contacts within the A&D community are strongly preferred. Solid knowledge of LED technology and lighting products. Excellent presentation, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience participating in and supporting trade shows and industry events. Strong team player with the ability to work independently in a remote, territory-based role. About You
