HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR Administration & Operations Office
Job Summary The Human Resources Director provides strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of all HR functions for Circle S Ranch. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and programs that support the company's mission, promote a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. The HR Director will partner closely with ownership and department leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce development, and employee engagement across multiple facilities and states.
This is a
full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position.
Reporting Relationships Reports directly to the Owners of Circle S Ranch.
Supervises HR staff and coordinates with Payroll, Safety, and Compliance teams.
Collaborates closely with department managers, supervisors, and external vendors (benefits administrators, legal counsel, and government agencies).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Compliance Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with company objectives.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws (including FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, DOT, EEOC, H-2A, and immigration regulations).
Maintain and update the employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, succession management, and organizational design.
Serve as the internal expert on employment law and risk mitigation.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention Lead full-cycle recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt positions.
Oversee onboarding, orientation, and training programs to ensure smooth employee transitions.
Manage employee engagement and retention initiatives to support a high-performing culture.
Partner with international and seasonal visa programs (including H-2A) to ensure compliance and program efficiency.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems Administer compensation structures, job classifications, and pay analyses.
Oversee benefits administration and annual open enrollment processes in partnership with third-party vendors.
Review and reconcile payroll and benefits data for accuracy.
Evaluate and recommend HRIS and timekeeping system enhancements.
Employee Relations & Development Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns.
Conduct investigations in a fair and confidential manner.
Support professional development, leadership training, and employee recognition programs.
Champion a positive and inclusive company culture that aligns with Circle S Ranch's values.
Safety, Risk, & Reporting Oversee safety initiatives and workers' compensation processes in collaboration with Operations.
Track and analyze HR metrics, including turnover, attendance, and compliance reporting.
Prepare and present HR reports to ownership and department heads.
Skills, Education, and Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (NC & SC).
Experience in agriculture, logistics, or manufacturing environments highly preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus).
Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution.
Physical Requirements Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional site visits to production and field locations.
Requires frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
