2-6 hrs on game days and off-site events
Oakland Roots SC is seeking energetic, sales-minded Merchandise Sales Associates to drive merchandise revenue while delivering an outstanding matchday experience for our fans. This role is a frontline ambassador for the club, combining strong sales execution with exceptional customer service to create memorable interactions that reflect the Oakland Roots brand.
Key Responsibilities
Actively sell Oakland Roots and Soul merchandise, using product knowledge to recommend items and drive add-on sales
Deliver a welcoming, engaging, and efficient customer experience for all fans
Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process transactions
Proactively engage fans, answer product questions, and resolve issues with professionalism
Support the setup, breakdown, and visual presentation of merchandise booths to maximize sales
Keep merchandise areas organized, stocked, and visually appealing throughout events
Assist with inventory management, including restocking, tracking sales, and reporting low stock
Represent Oakland Roots and Soul with enthusiasm, professionalism, and brand pride
Requirements
Must be 18 years or older and able to stand for extended periods
Strong communication and customer engagement skills
Min. 1-3 years sales/retail experience, with a demonstrated ability to upsell and close transactions
Comfortable using electronic payment systems such as Square or similar POS platforms
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, fan-facing environment
Lift and transport merchandise boxes weighing up to 50 lbs as needed
