Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under minimal supervision performs human resources and business activities in the School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment (SEOE) and the Baruch Institute to include: (1) coordinating all personnel activities consisting of faculty, TFAC, staff, emeritus faculty, instructors, post-docs, and undergraduates; (2) Serve as liaison to International Student and Scholar Support (ISSS) to process all visa requests, solve problems for international faculty and staff, and assist with paperwork in connection with international visitors.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies relevant to the University of South Carolina and College of Arts and Sciences. Job Duty

After consultation with respective School Business Manager or Institute Business Manager to verify budget aspects, coordinate all personnel activities for the School of the Earth, Ocean & Environment and the Baruch Institute, consisting of faculty, staff, and undergraduate student employees. Process all personnel paperwork and actions for faculty and staff. Duties will include, but not be limited to, establishing new and updating old position descriptions, creating job postings, hiring proposals, initiating and completing the I-9 process for new hires, submitting background check paperwork for any undergraduate hire in which key access is being requested, and onboarding in People Admin, HCM PeopleSoft Actions, and summer ECOM/INST.
