Document Service Representative

Salary: $21/hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, flexible start time between 6:30a-8:30a, WITH mandatory overtime, up to 8 hours per week scattered over weeknights or Saturdays.
What’s a typical day as a Document Service Representative? You’ll be:
Processing incoming mail for the entire organization, including detailed sorting, batch preparation, and accurate scanning of all claims and correspondence documents
Examining, data entering, and re-writing physician, hospital, dental, and pharmacy claims using established policies and medical claims coding guidelines
Utilizing FormWorks for OCR error correction, “Key from Image,” and key entry on claims and correspondence in accordance with departmental standards
Filing images appropriately and routing work items to the correct departments to maintain service level agreements and regulatory compliance
Collaborating with Member Services, Provider Services, Claims Operations, and Medical Affairs to resolve claims and correspondence issues
Identifying and reporting system, billing, filing, scanning, or workflow issues to management
Maintaining production, accuracy, and quality standards while working independently and meeting deadlines
Assisting with process improvements, training new staff as needed, and completing required departmental documents accurately
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Have at least six (6) months of alphanumeric data entry experience in a healthcare setting
Possess a year or more of claims examining procedural review experience
Are familiar with CPT-4, HCPCS, ICD-9 codes, and healthcare correspondence
Have experience with on-line data entry systems, such as Macess EXP and FormWorks, and strong PC skills
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills
Can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with appropriate grammar and professionalism
Can work independently with minimal supervision, balancing multiple tasks efficiently
Are comfortable working on‑site, sitting or standing for prolonged periods, and occasionally traveling for meetings or training
