
Job Description
Aramark is currently seeking an Event Manager to support the Allen County Arena & Expo Center in Fort Wayne, IN! The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing event planning and coordination between clients and building services, primarily in the Expo Center and Meeting Rooms. Additionally, the Event Manager is an integral member of the sales team, fielding incoming inquiries from prospective clients and working with existing clients on re-bookings and long-range scheduling.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate activities with promoters, exhibitors, vendors and other external and internal departments for all tradeshows and consumer events
Coordinate activities with private event clients for planning and logistics of wedding receptions, banquets, business meetings, etc.
Work irregular schedule as required to ensure proper supervision of assigned events and activities
Maintain contact with promoters, repeat clients, vendors and other external stakeholders throughout the year to ensure a productive working relationship
Develop detailed floor plans, room diagrams and checklists for each event in accordance with applicable building fire codes and distribute to venue departments for implementation
Manage billing for events, including space and equipment rental charges and other building services
Utilize computer technology for customer relationship and event management
Ensure that spaces are ready when client arrives to set up or move-in
Assist Vice President of Sales in responding to phone, email and walk-in rental inquiries
Conduct tours of spaces and consults with prospective rental clients to maximize building usage
Qualifications
Requires an outgoing, articulate personality with well-developed communication skills to interact with the guests, clients and vendors on a regular basis
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, as well as, DataCAD design software
Advanced computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems and programs quickly is highly recommended
Demonstrated ability to process and implement complex instructions with superior attention to detail and consideration of short-term and long-range impacts
Verbal communication skills, including consulting with clients, planning operations with staff and resolving complaints from guests, both in person and on the telephone
Written communication skills, including composing detailed notes, documentation, sales correspondence, etc.
A valid driver’s license, ownership or the use of a private vehicle for business use.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as directed for events
