Internship Description/Learning Objectives:
The chosen associates will learn how to read music, engage in singing daily. Associates will also engage in social‑emotional learning sessions that feature job retention/readiness, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and communication/public speaking skills. The goal is cultivation of the total person; so fitness has been added to the daily project.
Job Duties:
Singing, listening, writing, exercising, engaging in social‑emotional learning activities, communication/public speaking, job readiness and cleaning the area in which is provided for the job experience.
Preferred Competencies:
Aptitude for singing and prior experience singing in a choir.
General Information Work Schedule Days and Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Dress Code:
Athletic shoes, sandals, T‑shirt, jeans, jogging pants, and no short shorts!
Travel Required:
None
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift five or ten pounds.
Working Conditions:
Indoors in choir room
Program Schedule The full program is June 1st – July 17th.
June 1st – June 3rd: Interns attend assigned worksite for scheduled times.
June 4th: POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport.
June 5th – July 17th: Team Members on site at their agencies on Monday‑Friday at the time scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work
4 hours
daily, which equals
20 hours
per week.
July 13th – July 17th: POWER Youth Summer Employment Program – End of Summer Celebration – Team Members can showcase their projects from the summer.
Salary & Benefits If you are selected as an Experience Work Team Member, you will make
$12.00 an hour
and receive a summer program with project‑based employment for youth ages 14‑15.
Experience Work projects can be focused on the arts, leadership skills or community development. In addition, you will learn “work ready” skills for future employment. There are opportunities to intern in many areas of Nashville, so please select the opportunity based on your access to transportation.
