What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily
Edit copy for accuracy and clarity under tight deadlines
Collaborate with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage
Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences
Publish and promote content across social platforms, following best practices
What is Required (Qualifications)
1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
Strong writing and editing skills with sound editorial judgment
Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software
Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social media copy
A genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversations
Experience publishing or promoting content on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and X
Ability to work effectively within established editorial workflows
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
