Description of Work This position is located in the Charlotte VR/IL Unit Office. The Community Employment Program Specialist/Business Relations Representative (BRR) works in partnership with Rehabilitation Counselors and Vocational Evaluators to determine suitable vocational options for individuals with disabilities and subsequently assist them in obtaining competitive employment within the community. Developing and maintaining employer relationships and promoting NCEIPD/s services are vital parts of this position.
Job Responsibilities
Work with consumers to assist them with seeking employment, completing applications, advocating with employers on behalf of the consumer, resume development, job placement/coaching, and follow‑up services
Teach Employment Marketing Skills classes and conduct Windmills training to job‑ready consumers and employers
Provide written and verbal reports to counselors on the progress of referred consumers’ efforts towards obtaining employment
Assist consumers with obtaining internships that align with their vocational goals
Engage with local and regional employers to explain agency's mission and goals and to assist in meeting their business needs
Participate in job fairs and other community events to promote the agency and increase employment opportunities for consumers, and represent the work unit on boards and committees as designated by the Unit Manager
Qualifications and Preferences Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities; Knowledge and/or experience helping others obtain employment; Knowledge and/or experience working with a team; Valid North Carolina driver’s license required to drive state vehicles.
Salary and Benefits Salary Grade Range: $34,270 - $59,973
Recruitment Range: $34,270 - $59,369
Position eligible for a hybrid‑teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours.

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field (e.g., human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration) from an accredited institution; or
Associate’s degree in a human services or business field from an accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; or
High school or GED and four years of directly related work experience; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
