What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily
Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage
Identify emerging stories relevant to Black audiences and elevate them with context
Package stories with optimized headlines, visuals, and captions for web and social
Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments
What is Required (Qualifications)
1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
Strong writing and editing skills with sound editorial judgment
Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software
Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social copy
A genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversation
Experience publishing or promoting content on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
