Responsibilities

Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily

Collaborate with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage

Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences

Package and optimize stories with compelling headlines and visuals for web and social

Monitor audience performance and response to inform editorial decisions

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation

Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social copy

Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing skills

Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Strong multimedia-first mindset with an understanding of various journalism platforms

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines

Experience publishing or promoting content on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
