What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily
Collaborate with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage
Identify and elevate stories relevant to Black audiences
Package stories with optimized headlines and visuals for web and social
Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments
What is Required (Qualifications):
1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
Proven writing and editing skills for online content, including articles and social copy
Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software
Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required with strong experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
A genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversation
Experience publishing or promoting content on social media platforms
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities
Strong collaborative communication skills across teams and disciplines
