What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily

Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage

Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences

Package stories with compelling headlines and visuals optimized for various platforms

Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments

What is Required (Qualifications):

1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation

Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social copy

Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing

Working knowledge of SEO and content optimization best practices

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

Demonstrated strong editorial judgment and writing skills

Experience publishing on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook

Ability to work independently while contributing to team-driven coverage

Multimedia-first mindset with a strong understanding of journalism across various formats

Highly organized and detail-oriented in managing multiple priorities
