
Crating Specialist
The main purpose of crating is to safely protect, secure, and transport products or equipment by providing a sturdy enclosure that prevents damage during handling, storage, or shipping. Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and production teams to meet deadlines and shipping schedules. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the crating process. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency. Measure, cut, and assemble crates to fit specific products or equipment. Secure items inside crates using appropriate padding, bracing, or fasteners to prevent movement or damage. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during crate construction. Inspect materials and finished crates for quality, durability, and accuracy. High School Diploma or GED required. One year use of saws/drills in a manufacturing environment preferred. Carpentry/woodworking experience preferred. Great communication skills with different departments (shipping/fabrication). Basic computer skills. Forklift experience. Adaptability and willingness to adapt to changing tasks. Attention to detail.
