Key Account Manager – Space

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for the position of Aerospace and Defense Key Account Manager will build strong working relationships, seek opportunities and develop plans to grow sales at large and complex end users, and elevate current relationships to higher executive levels.
Your Responsibilities
Leads front end negotiation, implementation and execution of customer agreements
Calls on and develops C‑suite‑level relationships with existing and new customers
Identifies, influences, and leads mutual beneficial projects with key national accounts
Works with assigned accounts to follow through on agreed upon objectives
Determines competitive share opportunities and creates plans to win share
Develops and executes plans to deliver the strategy for the key account
Maps and identifies opportunities to strengthen the relationships between 3M and the account
Implements best practices across multiple locations
Company Vehicle This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of experience selling to large complex end‑user accounts in a private, public, government, or military environment
Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional Qualifications That Could Help You Succeed Even Further in this Role
Experience working with and through large national distribution channels
Master’s degree in business or marketing from an accredited university
Seven (7) years’ experience with strategic key account management
Experience and demonstrated success in representing 3M products
Experience in space or aerospace markets
Experience in negotiating and managing agreements
Demonstrated strong collaboration and networking skill set
Knowledge of 3M’s business areas, products, technologies and structure
Experience engaging with and influencing executive levels of organizations
Work Location
Work location: Remote role
Travel: May include up to 50% domestic
Relocation: May be authorized
