
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Packaging Designer to lead the end-to-end development of innovative, functional, and brand-aligned packaging solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in materials, structural design, market trends, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands‑on experience, a strong creative vision, and proven leadership abilities to drive packaging excellence across our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Strategy
Oversee the entire packaging design process—from concept through production—ensuring all solutions align with brand identity and deliver an exceptional consumer experience. Apply advanced design strategies and knowledge of materials to develop packaging that is functional, visually compelling, and interactive. Stay ahead of market trends, innovations, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform forward‑thinking design strategies. Conduct and incorporate consumer research to refine and optimize packaging concepts. Lead sustainability initiatives by integrating eco‑friendly materials, responsible design practices, and adherence to environmental regulations. Technical Expertise
Utilize deep understanding of materials (e.g., paperboard, plastics) and printing processes to create designs that are feasible, durable, and cost‑effective. Develop structural packaging solutions and prototypes using advanced design software and engineering principles. Ensure packaging meets all regulatory and compliance standards across markets. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with marketing, product development, supply chain, and other internal teams to ensure alignment on design objectives, timelines, and product requirements. Communicate design concepts and strategies clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, including senior leadership. Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely production, high‑quality materials, and adherence to design specifications. Operational & Budget Oversight
Manage the packaging development budget, making informed, cost‑effective decisions without compromising quality or design intent. Oversee project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure efficient and successful execution. Mentor and develop junior designers, fostering a collaborative, creative, and high‑performing team environment. Provide guidance and constructive feedback to support ongoing skills development and design excellence. Demonstrate a proactive, solution‑oriented approach to overcoming design challenges. Qualifications Extensive experience in packaging design, with a strong, diverse portfolio showcasing innovative and functional solutions. Advanced knowledge of structural design, materials science, printing technologies, and packaging manufacturing processes. Proficiency in industry‑standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, Esko, etc.). Strong understanding of global packaging regulations and sustainability standards. Excellent communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and project management skills. Experience with character licenses and licensor approval processes. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire design teams.
