Sr. Product Marketing PMO Lead
The Sage Group, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
One of The Sage Group’s clients is looking for a Sr. Product Marketing PMO Lead, from B2B SaaS or e-commerce. The client is a technology company that provides a marketing automation platform, used primarily for email marketing and SMS marketing.
Location: Hybrid 2-3 days a week San Francisco CA
Duration: 6 months to start, with extension and contract to hire potential
Compensation: $75-85hr
As the Product Marketing PMO Lead, you are the operational backbone for how client brings product innovation and stories to market via client’s Launch Squad Team. You’ll partner closely with
Product Marketing, Customer Marketing, Analyst Relations, and Product Management
to translate the product roadmap into clear GTM plans, orchestrate high-impact launches, and ensure the right work ships on time and with quality.
In this lead role, you’ll operate as a
connector and integrator —aligning PMMs and PMs on priorities, driving a consistent launch operating model and execution of deliverables, and creating scalable processes that enable the Launch Squad and cross-functional teams to get work done quickly. You’ll lead by influence, bring structure to ambiguity, and raise the bar on predictability, decision-making, and learning loops.
Duties/Responsibilities Own the Roadmap-to-Launch Operating System
Connect Product roadmap → PMM strategy → GTM plans → launch execution through a clear, tiered launch model, workbacks, and readiness gates.
Maintain the single source of truth for Product & Customer Marketing launch plans/calendar, with dependencies across Integrated Marketing, Creative, Web, Lifecycle, PR/Comms, Enablement, Events, and Analytics.
Lead Launch Orchestration & Cross-Functional Delivery
Run launch forums (kickoffs, status, readiness) with clear decisions, owners, and timelines; surface risks early with mitigation plans.
Provide crisp, audience-appropriate updates (channel owners → exec level) that clarify progress, tradeoffs, and decisions.
Drive Governance, Visibility, and Capacity Clarity
Drive squad operating rhythms (planning checkpoints, grooming/intake, fortnightly syncs) that ladder into broader marketing rhythms.
Build/maintain projects and dashboards that make status, dependencies, risks, and resourcing visible, helping teams prioritize and right-size plans to capacity.
Make Measurement and Learning Repeatable
Ensure success metrics, owners, and readout plans are defined at kickoff (not after launch) and tie back to Marketing/Product OKRs.
Drive retros/readouts that capture performance insights + process learnings, then apply improvements across future launches (not just archive notes).
Standardize Tools, Templates, and Automation
Define and uphold launch workflows/templates (brief inputs, BOMs, workbacks, trackers, boards) to reduce ambiguity and tracker sprawl.
Identify opportunities for AI/automation (status hygiene, reporting, templates) to reduce admin load and increase strategic bandwidth for PMMs/marketers.
Required Skills/Abilities
Program leadership:
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs with interdependencies; strong ownership from planning through delivery.
Launch + roadmap fluency:
Comfortable partnering with Product/PMs and translating roadmap into GTM plans and execution.
Strategic prioritization:
Ability to challenge scope (“why this, why now”), recommend sequencing/phasing, and drive tradeoffs based on impact and capacity.
Cross-functional influence:
Leads by influence, facilitates alignment, resolves conflict constructively, and drives decisions with clear outcomes.
Operational rigor + tooling:
Strong in Monday.com/Jira (or similar), dashboards, and scalable templates/process design.
Executive communication:
Synthesizes ambiguity into crisp updates; frames risks/decisions clearly to speed alignment.
Education and Experience
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
8+ years of experience leading
marketing programs , including cross-functional coordination, complex project execution, and program optimization, within SaaS or e-commerce environments. 3-5 years PMO experience.
