More South Carolinians will soon gain access to affordable broadband, devices, and digital skills training as the SC Digital Resource Alliance (SCDRA), led by backbone agency Palmetto Goodwill, expands its digital equity initiatives from a regional collaboration to a statewide effort. Founded in 2022, the SCDRA – formerly the Lowcountry Digital Equity Coalition (LDEC) – includes 32 active coalition members representing public organizations across education, healthcare, philanthropy, government, and the private sector. Originally focused on the Charleston Tricounty region, the Alliance will now work statewide to bridge the digital divide by strengthening partnerships, aligning strategies, and scaling proven solutions that increase access and opportunity.
