Director Business Finance

Luckin Coffee, New York, NY, United States

Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

About the Role

We’re looking for a data-driven, business-savvy finance professional to play a key role in shaping how we understand and optimize store-level performance across our U.S. operations. You’ll partner closely with operations, strategy, and finance teams to turn complex data into actionable insights—driving smarter decisions, better forecasting, and sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain standardized reporting frameworks, analytical dashboards, or platforms to regularly monitor and report on store-level unit economics (UE), including trends, drivers, and performance gaps.
  • Diagnose variances between actuals and forecasts/plans—digging into root causes across cost, efficiency, volume, and margin—and lead cross-functional initiatives to implement systemic improvements.
  • Own the end-to-end planning cycle, including annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts. Translate business drivers into robust financial models, and evaluate scenarios under different assumptions to guide strategic choices.
  • Partner with other business functions (e.g., Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain) to establish clear goal-setting frameworks, track execution progress, and assess business impact.
  • Support ad-hoc analyses, system enhancements, and special projects related to performance reporting, data infrastructure, or financial insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business finance, or commercial finance—ideally within retail, consumer goods, food & beverage, or fast-paced operational environments.
  • Exposure to multiple finance domains (e.g., cost accounting, general ledger, FP&A, finance business partnering) is a strong plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) to process, visualize, and interpret large datasets with precision.
  • Exceptional analytical rigor, business acumen, and a natural curiosity to ask “why” behind the numbers.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong ownership, collaboration skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Clear communicator—able to distill complex analysis into simple, compelling narratives for both finance and non-finance audiences.
