This position supports the work of YMCA of Morgan County, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility and is responsible for the development, organization, implementation promotion and administration of high-quality YMCA programming. Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Youth Program Director is responsible for the development, organization, implementation promotion and administration of high-quality YMCA childcare. The Youth Program Director will oversee the management, coordination, and implementation of School Age Childcare, Holiday, and Summer Day Camp Programs. Upholding the YMCA Mission Statement, Philosophy, Code of Conduct, and Four Core Values. The major emphasis is on program excellence and providing a quality, enriching, and safe school-age experience for all participants. QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, or Human Services is preferred. Minimum of 2–3 years of direct experience in youth development, including staff or volunteer supervision. Ability to provide staff and participants an equally excellent experience regardless of color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, or any other status protected by law. Clear criminal background results Proof of CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, manages and coordinates the childcare program.Assists in ensuring high quality programs and establishes new program activities.Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Responsible for employee recruitment, hiring, training, developing, evaluating, scheduling, and directing program staff as needed. Develop strategies to establish trust, motivate and develop staff to achieve program goals. Holds regularly scheduled department specific staff meetings. Monitors and approval of staff hours (sickness, vacation, and leave of absence).Approving staff time in payroll management system. Maintains records for job specific requirements. CPR/First Aid, child abuse prevention, TB drug testing, and monthly meeting agendas/attendance tracking. Oversees program evaluations and staff evaluations alongside the Operations Director. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed. Work closely with the Operations Director to ensure parent handbook are reflective of our policies and procedures. Maintains a relationship with the school administration, parent groups and other stakeholders related to the program. Responds to all parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Assists marketing coordinator in the promotion and recruitment of department program and services.Contribute necessary information for all media venues. Communicates regularly with families on program happenings and overall Y happenings. Maintain open communications with parents; keep them informed of programs, schedules, and events. Prepares, manages and submits all fiscal management for related grants. Responsible for maintaining all records, including attendance rosters, payments, children’s files, staff files, and licensing forms. Shares in the responsibility of collection of childcare fees. Responsible for program budget, including developing a yearly budget, tracking and processing expenditures, and adjusting for variances. Maintains and expands knowledge and skills related to childcare programming. Attend all required webinars, meetings, workshops, conferences. Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, Y management, parents, and school administrators. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of assigned classroom or work area in conjunction with the school maintenance department and Y personnel. Plan, organize, and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies. Place orders in a timely manner. Participates in the YMCA annual fundraising campaign. Assist in fundraising events and special events Attends monthly key staff meeting and prepares monthly program report Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Evidence of the YMCA having high credibility in the community in the areas of they youth development programs. Sound fiscal management as evidenced by adequate income production and expense control, as budgeted and adjusted during the year. Evidence of consistent growth in the number of programs, activities, and class offerings, and in the number of program participants. Facilities and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and appropriate manner. Adequate planning and organization are evidenced through the meeting of deadlines, sufficient promotion, and the attainment of agreed upon goals and objectives.
