2026 Summer Programs - Summer Elementary: Assistant Director

Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Experience in program development, curriculum design, monitoring student progress, and providing professional development to staff
Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students; respond to social and emotional needs of students and staff
Knowledge and appreciation of cultural difference; commitment to removing barriers to equity, access, and inclusion
Evidence of five years of successful teaching experience, preferably with experience in providing research-based interventions
Responsibilities (commencing in March 2026)
School year job requirements including planning and coordination time during out of school hours
Summer School Session: Must be available for on‑site support for summer session
Must be available for district‑wide summer professional development
Conduct staff meetings and training in coordination with the K‑8 Curriculum Coordinators as necessary, for the proper functioning of the summer school
Supervise summer teachers and all instructional activities
Coordinate the administration of the elementary summer school intervention program which includes student recruitment, registration, assessment, intervention grouping/scheduling, teacher assignment, and progress monitoring
Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the academic progress and attendance of students in accordance with Title I Regulations
Assist in the screening, hiring and assigning of summer school reading and math intervention teachers
Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary
Assess all summer school activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs
Respond to program crisis situations and be point of contact for staff, student and families when needed
Keep track of daily attendance and notify supervisor(s) of students with attendance concerns
Compile program data including, but not limited to, student academic progress, pre/post testing assessments, attendance by end of program
Ensure program clean‑up happens at the end of program
Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the K‑8 Curriculum Coordinators and/or the summer leadership team
Terms of Employment Seasonal/Yearly Employment
Location: TBD
Stipend: $5,000
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: TBD
Program Schedule July–August 2026 (4 weeks)
Monday through Friday, 5 days per week
8 am – 1 pm
