
Customer Service Representative

New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Customer Service Representative – Industrial Supplies to provide front-line support and deliver a positive customer experience in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, critical thinking, and a customer-first mindset. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, professional, and thrives in a team setting.
Essential Duties:
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online portals
Resolve product or service issues promptly and professionally
Provide product information, including availability, pricing, and lead times
Assist customers in identifying the correct industrial supplies for their needs
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Enter and process sales orders accurately within the ERP system
Review orders for pricing, terms, and credit approval
Confirm order details, shipping instructions, and delivery timelines
Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely shipment
Manage returns and exchanges
Assist with inventory checks and stock inquiries
Investigate shipping discrepancies and backorders
Follow up with customers to ensure full issue resolution
Escalate complex issues to management as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and customer records in accounting platforms, Excel, Google Spreadsheets, and CRM systems
Provide feedback regarding customer trends to help improve service quality
Meet established performance metrics, including response times and customer satisfaction scores
Requirements/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior customer service experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with CRM systems
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Professional demeanor and team-oriented attitude
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to occasionally lift to 15 pounds
Ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person
