Overview
The Golf Club of New England is a private golf club established in 2003 with an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer. The club is dedicated to providing unparalleled service and unique experiences for members, their families, and guests.
The club has hosted several major championships, including the 2012 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (the first U.S.G.A. Championship to be held in New Hampshire), the New Hampshire Men's and Women's Amateur Championships as well as the New England PGA Section Championship.
Position: Assistant Golf Professional
Reports to: Head Golf Professional
Supervises: Outside Services Staff, Practice Facility, Bag Room, and Golf Cart Fleet.
The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in managing and overseeing all facets of the Club's golf activities, resulting in an exceptional experience for members and guests. The Assistant will also assist in providing a high level of golf instruction and overseeing the management of golf operations. Areas of focus include: customer relations and service, tournament and event management, merchandising, sales, individual and group lessons, bag room operations, caddie program, practice facilities, golf car fleet, and personnel management.
Essential Responsibilities
1-3 years of experience working in a golf operations environment at a private club
Hands‑on experience assisting with daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, starting, pace of play monitoring, and outside services coordination
Proven experience providing high-level member and guest service in a fast-paced golf setting
Experience working in a golf shop/ pro shop, including POS systems, merchandising, inventory control, and retail sales
Background assisting with or managing golf tournaments, leagues, and events, including scoring, pairings, and on-course logistics
Working knowledge of the Rules of Golf, golf etiquette, and club policies
Experience providing golf instruction (private lessons, clinics, junior programs) preferred
Familiarity with golf management software (tee sheet, POS, handicap systems)
PGA or LPGA Apprentice or Class A Member status preferred, or working towards membership
