
Construction Superintendent

Our client is a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and construction services firm that provides integrated solutions from early planning and design through construction and commissioning. They support complex projects across markets such as federal, industrial, mission‑critical, site development, transportation, municipal, life sciences, and water/environment, delivering tailored planning, technical design, construction management, inspection, and related services nationwide.
Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for field operations on assigned large or complex construction projects.
Oversee and coordinate all on‑site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, plans, and specifications.
Manage site logistics, subcontractor performance, inspections, sequencing, and daily/weekly work planning.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, and Engineers to ensure alignment on goals, expectations, and project priorities.
Lead weekly foremen meetings, pre‑installation conferences, and critical path planning sessions.
Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes and documentation across all phases of work.
Oversee project close‑out, including punch list execution, turnover documentation, and warranty planning.
Mentor, coach, and evaluate field staff, supporting growth, performance development, and team morale.
Serve as the senior field resource for resolving high‑level challenges and adapting to evolving site conditions.
May provide leadership, guidance, or oversight to field superintendents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 10+ years of progressive construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven leadership experience managing large‑scale or complex construction projects.
OSHA‑30 certification required.
Required Skills
Strong ability to lead field teams, manage multiple subcontractors, and drive production.
Expert understanding of construction schedules, critical path milestones, and sequencing strategies.
Deep knowledge of construction processes, plans/specifications, and contract requirements.
Skilled in communicating effectively with diverse audiences — field staff, office teams, and clients.
Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Demonstrates emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to maintain team alignment and trust in complex project environments.
