Summary Account Executives are account- aligned sales leaders responsible for generating demand, qualifying opportunities and closing deals. They own the commercial relationship with names customer accounts, driving the end to end sales cycle. They are technically credible resources, but partner with and rely on Solution Architect for technical design and solution validation.
Key Responsibilities
Act as “account CEOs” for Forgent’s prioritized, names accounts.
Lead quarterly account planning and the development of account growth strategies (in collaboration with TransformersCo account teams)
Generate demand through prospecting, networking, and ecosystem relationships
Qualify opportunities by understanding customer needs and clarifying requirements
Drive the sales cycle from lead to close, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with Solution Architects during discovery and solutioning phases
Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, terms & conditions, and contract closure
Maintain executive-level relationships to support renewals and expansion
Qualifications
5-10+ years in B2B enterprise / data center / industrial sales (power, infrastructure, or adjacent)
Strong business acumen with enough technical depth to build credibility with customer engineers
Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas
Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and account planning
Compensation
Highly leveraged compensation plan
Variable tied to new bookings, revenue growth, and account expansion.
