Structural Draftsperson

Founded in 1987, RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC is an employee-owned 115+ person Manhattan-based firm that designs, specifies, and administers restoration, upgrade, and adaptive re-use programs on behalf of owners, managers, and co‑op and condo boards.

We are currently seeking a draftsperson for our Structural department. Candidate should be self‑motivated, energetic, organized and a team player.

Candidates should have the ability to work closely with engineering staff to develop project structural drawings including plans and details and the ability to develop drafting standards with guidance and direction from engineers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software

Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements

Review and modify existing drawings as necessary

Ensure accuracy and adherence to design specifications

Incorporate feedback and make revisions based on project needs

Collaborate with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency and efficiency in drawing production

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technology

Qualifications:

2 years minimum drafting experience Degree or course experience in Technical design or Civil Engineering degree.

Experience with structural drafting in AutoCad

Proficiency in National CAD Standards (NCS)

Strong understanding of layering systems and layer management best practices

Experience with block creation, organization, and block management

Experience with sheet set management and drawing organization

Proven experience as a Drafter or similar role

Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, etc.)

Strong knowledge of structural design principles

Familiarity with system design concepts

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work

Strong problem‑solving skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
