The Instructional Designer & Training Specialist designs and delivers engaging learning programs that support the global growth of the Google Chromebook (ChromeOS) ecosystem. As part of the Training & Sales Enablement team, this role partners with content, facilitation, and learning technology experts to create impactful training for external partners, including OEMs, retailers, and strategic partners.

Job Description As an Instructional Designer & Training Specialist, you will join the Training & Sales Enablement organization, representing our client, Google Chromebook. This position is responsible for developing and coordinating a variety of learning programs within a highly capable product team comprising content creators, facilitators, and learning technology experts. You will support a fast-paced technology environment by delivering dynamic people solutions that grow the ChromeOS ecosystem globally.

The Chromebook Go-To-Market (GTM) team plays a vital role in growing the ChromeOS (Chromebook) ecosystem globally. By collaborating with a variety of external Google Chromebook partners, including OEMs, retailers, and strategic partners, you will build visionary training strategies and deliver educational experiences that are consistently engaging, memorable, and fun.

Your deep expertise in Instructional Design, coupled with a proven Learning & Development background, will be essential to building a visionary training strategy. You will be expected to deliver educational experiences that are consistently engaging, memorable, and fun for a wide variety of external Google Chromebook partners, including OEMs, retailers, and other strategic partners. This role is remote, traveling up to 25% per business needs.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Content Creation: Develop, write, and coordinate diverse learning materials, ranging from executive-level slide presentations to comprehensive online curriculum and rapid video content

Strategic Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine content development needs and translate technical details into digestible training sources

Project & Program Management: Function as a lead Project or Program Manager as needed, ensuring all learning efforts are driven effectively from the design phase through to full implementation

Curriculum Curation: Act as a central curator of learning sources to support broad employee and talent pools, maintaining accuracy and timeliness to positively impact retail partnerships

Enablement Partnership: Work alongside account team leads to develop product and services training for the Google Chromebook mobile computing portfolio

Implementation & Operations: Partner with enablement managers to ensure program success, manage reporting across the training organization, and maintain a firm understanding of technology solutions from a learning perspective

Qualifications And Experience

6+ years of experience in developing creative digital content materials and planning employee training programs

A background in retail, computing, mobile, or other product-based OEMs is highly desired, with a specific line of sight to Go-to-Market strategies and product training

Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), content management systems, and virtual facilitation tools like Google Meet, WebEx, or Zoom

Expert proficiency with e-Learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate

Instructional design experience supporting retail/sales, including e-learning and rapid design principles; or combined work experience and education. Must have experience developing materials that build knowledge and skill

Proficiency in leveraging Generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Google Vids) to accelerate content creation, streamline storyboarding, and enhance rapid material development workflows

Demonstrated experience with instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM), adult learning principles (Bloom’s Taxonomy), and rapid design principles for retail/sales environments

Mastery of Google Workspace applications (ranging from Slides, Sheets, Docs, Vids/Labs) and Microsoft Office products

Proficiency with Adobe Design Premium (Photoshop, Illustrator) and demonstrated ability to build graphics and execute video development

Demonstrated ability to build graphics and rapid video development is also a plus; Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and emerging learning technology

Demonstrated ability to design and develop web-based content and maintain websites is preferred

Experience in retail learning & development is highly desired

Essential Job Functions

Work is generally performed in an office environment

Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time

Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity

The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds

Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines

Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area

May require additional hours beyond the normal schedule. Travel varies depending on the position
