Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), now in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer, manufacturer, and importer of residential, hospitality, and contract furnishings, including case goods, leather furniture, luxury outdoor furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture. We are currently seeking a Showroom Designer to join our team in our showroom in High Point, NC. Position Summary
The Showroom Designer will partner closely with senior design leadership to support the overall creative vision, planning, and execution of our High Point showroom and other strategic design initiatives throughout the year. This role blends creative design, space planning, vendor coordination, and hands-on project management to ensure showroom environments are compelling, functional, and market-ready. Reporting to the Vice President of Showroom Design, this position plays a key role in delivering impactful brand experiences during market and other corporate events. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with design leadership and business partners to execute showroom design strategy Manage showroom projects from concept through installation, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met Develop space plans and furniture layouts using CAD Source and specify furnishings, finishes, and visual elements to support the overall design vision Coordinate with vendors and external partners to support procurement and installation Manage showroom installations, working alongside the team on-site to ensure timely and accurate setup. Support trade shows and special design initiatives throughout the year Maintain organized project documentation and design records Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of showroom design or interior design experience with hands‑on involvement in installations required; experience coordinating installations in showroom, retail, or large‑scale commercial design environments preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD
required ; experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite preferred Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions Willingness to travel and support trade shows and showroom installations Ability to perform the physical aspects of showroom setup, including lifting and moving materials as needed Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support showroom preparation and operations during High Point Market and other key events.
