Student Ministry Worship Intern

Overview
First Baptist Perry is seeking a Student Ministry Worship Intern to serve alongside our student ministry for the summer. This intern will lead worship for student gatherings and intentionally invest in our current student worship team with the goal of helping them grow in both skill and leadership. The heart of this role is not just to lead worship well, but to equip and develop a student‑led worship team so they can confidently function on their own after the internship concludes.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead worship for student ministry gatherings (primarily Wednesday nights)
Serve with the worship team during Sunday services as needed
Mentor and develop student musicians and vocalists
Help establish sustainable systems for:
Running effective rehearsals
Creating worship set lists
Team communication and scheduling
Preparing spiritually and musically for services
Partner with the Student Pastor and Adult Lead Team to support the overall vision of student ministry
Model Christlike character, humility, and a heart for discipleship
What We’re Looking For
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Experience leading worship (vocally and/or instrumentally)
A heart for student ministry and developing young leaders
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to lead with both confidence and humility
Willingness to teach, encourage, and empower students
Position Details
Type: Paid summer internship
Schedule: Flexible; typically includes:
Sunday services
Wednesday night student gatherings
Office and planning time Monday–Wednesday 9:30-3:30
Student Summer Camps: May 25-29 and June 1-5
Housing: Potential housing options available depending on the candidate
Duration: Summer term May 24 – Aug 2, 2026
Overall Goal
Have clear systems and schedule in place
Feel confident leading worship independently
Be spiritually encouraged and better equipped to serve
