Position Summary Virginia Transformer is seeking a

Segment Marketing Manager – Utilities

to lead both the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives supporting the utility market, including investor‑owned utilities, cooperatives, municipal utilities, and transmission operators.

This role combines deep industry knowledge with hands‑on marketing leadership. The successful candidate will translate utility market dynamics such as grid modernization, infrastructure constraints, reliability requirements, regulatory drivers, and rising electricity demand into actionable campaigns, sales enablement tools, and digital programs that strengthen Virginia Transformer’s brand awareness and market position.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Utilities segment strategy including target accounts, growth priorities, and market positioning.

Monitor trends such as grid resilience investments, electrification, renewable integration, infrastructure replacement cycles, and regulatory changes.

Translate market intelligence into clear campaign priorities and commercial actions.

Customer & Industry Engagement

Engage with utilities, industry associations, and stakeholders to gather voice‑of‑customer insights.

Support executive briefings, advisory interactions, and customer events.

Represent marketing at industry conferences and technical forums.

Translate customer pain points (lead times, reliability, footprint, efficiency, scalability) into clear value propositions and positioning.

Track competitors, policy developments, and infrastructure investment trends.

Monitor supply‑demand dynamics affecting transformers and grid equipment.

Share insights with leadership to inform strategy.

Leverage marketing technology platforms to plan and execute programs, including:

CRM systems for account tracking and pipeline alignment

Marketing automation platforms for campaign execution and nurturing

Email marketing tools for targeted outreach

Analytics platforms to monitor engagement and performance

Use data to identify target utilities, track engagement, and support account‑based marketing efforts.

Partner with digital teams to optimize web experiences for utility audiences.

Maintain dashboards and reporting to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.

Develop utility‑focused messaging aligned with Virginia Transformer’s value proposition around reliability, lead times, and engineering expertise.

Guide creation of technical content such as:

Application briefs

Grid modernization insights

Industry commentary for social media

Case studies and customer success stories

White papers, and thought‑leadership pieces

Industry‑event messaging and executive presentations

Ensure messaging resonates with technical and executive utility audiences.

Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement

Create tools to support commercial teams including:

Segment playbooks

Presentation materials

Support bid strategies with insights into utility priorities and decision drivers.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or related field

5–10+ years of experience in B2B marketing or commercial roles within utilities, power equipment, or energy infrastructure

Working knowledge of:

Transmission and distribution systems

High‑and medium‑voltage equipment applications

Utility planning and procurement processes

Experience executing marketing programs and campaigns

Preferred Experience & Knowledge

Familiarity with marketing technology such as CRM, marketing automation, analytics platforms, and content management systems

Experience supporting long-cycle engineered equipment sales

Understanding of grid modernization, electrification, and infrastructure investment trends

Experience working with utilities or grid stakeholders

Strategic market analysis and segmentation

Strong cross‑functional collaboration and influence

Technical curiosity with commercial acumen

Ability to operate at both

strategic and tactical levels
