The Commercial Account Manager plays a critical role in managing and servicing Horizon’s commercial insurance accounts. This role is responsible for maintaining client relationships, coordinating renewals, managing policy changes, and supporting the sales team with quoting and account development.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
This position works closely with agents, carriers, and wholesalers to ensure our clients receive accurate coverage, timely service, and professional guidance throughout the policy lifecycle.
Client Service & Account Management
Serve as the primary service contact for assigned commercial accounts
Manage policy changes, endorsements, certificates, and coverage questions
Maintain accurate client records within the agency management system
Communicate with carriers and wholesalers to resolve policy issues
Renewal Management
Manage the renewal process from initial review through policy issuance
Identify coverage gaps and recommend improvements when appropriate
Coordinate remarketing when pricing or coverage changes require it
Prepare renewal proposals and review coverage options with agents
Quoting & Marketing Support
Assist producers with gathering underwriting information and submissions
Prepare applications and coordinate quotes with carriers or wholesalers
Organize proposal materials and ensure documentation is complete
Account Development & Cross-Selling
Identify opportunities to expand coverage within existing accounts
Coordinate with the sales team to introduce additional policies or risk management solutions
Support the agency’s retention and growth objectives
Operational Excellence
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for service workflows
Document activities and communications in the agency management system
Maintain organized policy files and accurate coverage records
