Biotech Patent Strategist: Junior-to-Midlevel Associate Bridge the gap between laboratory breakthrough and global market leadership. We are seeking a highly specialized Biotech Associate to join our elite Intellectual Property practice in Boston.

This role is designed for a "Scientist-Attorney"—someone who possesses the deep technical rigor of a Ph.D. and the legal acumen to protect the next generation of life-saving therapeutics. You will work alongside industry-leading partners to advise emerging biotechs, venture-backed startups, and global pharmaceutical giants on their most critical IP assets.

The Science You Will Protect Your portfolio will involve the most sophisticated subject matter in the life sciences sector today:

Genomic Innovation:

CRISPR, gene-editing, and synthetic biology.

Modern Immunology:

Advanced antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and immunotherapy.

Molecular & Cell Biology:

RNA-based therapeutics, protein engineering, and cell signaling.

Chemical Biology:

Small molecule discovery and biochemical pathways.

The Candidate Profile

The Academic Foundation:

An advanced degree is required; a Ph.D. in a Life Sciences discipline (Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, etc.) is strongly preferred.

The Legal Practice:

1–5 years of patent prosecution and counseling experience within a sophisticated law firm environment.

The Credentials:

Must hold a USPTO Registration Number.

Note: If you have not yet passed the Patent Bar, the firm provides a structured 12-month window from your hire date to prepare for and pass the exam.

The Skillset:

Ability to draft complex patent applications that can withstand the rigors of global litigation and PTAB challenges.

A base salary range of

$225,000 to $435,000 , plus a highly competitive bonus structure.
