Agency and Platform Overview AGF Talent is representing a well‑funded, growth‑stage defense technology company in their search for a Strategic Account Manager. Their SaaS platform is utilized by several military branches, as well as other federal agencies.
Role Overview The Strategic Account Manager will own a high‑value portfolio of U.S. Army and international defense accounts, driving renewals, expansion revenue, and platform adoption while serving as a trusted client partner to senior government and allied nation stakeholders.
This role leads both the revenue growth and project dimensions of each account, overseeing delivery teams to ensure project objectives are met and client outcomes exceed expectations.
This is a high‑visibility, high‑reward role for a results‑driven operator with deep Army and international defense credibility.
What You’ll Do
Drive renewal and expansion revenue across a portfolio of U.S. Army and international defense accounts, with uncapped variable compensation tied directly to account growth.
Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with program managers, decision‑makers, and executives across the U.S. Army and international defense community.
Lead complex SaaS deployments and analytic projects, translating mission requirements into software use cases, project plans, and delivery milestones.
Develop project work plans and align delivery teams around priorities, ensuring project execution meets and exceeds client expectations.
Lead, mentor, and provide career development guidance to delivery team members across project engagements.
Respond to requests for proposals and develop white papers in collaboration with sales teams to shape and scope new work.
Identify, scope, and close upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts.
Partner with Product and Sales teams to shape account and project strategy and configure the platform for client needs.
Deliver concise, executive‑ready briefings that translate complex project findings and data insights into clear recommendations.
What We’re Looking For You bring a rare combination of U.S. Army and international defense domain credibility, enterprise SaaS fluency, and the executive presence to operate at the senior government client level. You are low‑ego, high‑impact, and equally comfortable navigating complex international environments, pushing back on a client, and rolling up your sleeves with a delivery team.
Required
MBA or advanced degree.
Direct experience working with or selling to U.S. Army programs and/or international defense clients.
At least two of the three: enterprise SaaS account management, renewals and expansion revenue ownership, defense or national security domain expertise.

Proven ability to manage senior client relationships, lead cross‑functional delivery teams, and drive complex projects from scoping through completion.
Comfort navigating international client environments and allied nation engagements.
Strong executive presence with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally.
