Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 30%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 30%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi‑annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.
About This Job The Vice President, Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships with venture‑backed, technology‑focused companies and their financial sponsors. This role serves as a primary client contact, delivering tailored banking and credit solutions while driving new business growth, portfolio performance, and long‑term client engagement.
The ideal candidate brings strong relationship management skills, a consultative sales approach, and a solid understanding of the venture and technology ecosystem, including founder‑led and sponsor‑backed growth companies.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of venture‑backed and technology clients, including founders, executive leadership teams, and financial sponsors
Originate and develop new client relationships through direct sourcing, referrals, venture capital and private equity networks, and industry events
Deliver a full suite of banking and credit solutions tailored to high‑growth technology companies, including credit facilities, treasury management, and deposit products
Partner closely with Credit, Underwriting, Treasury, Legal, and Operations teams to structure, underwrite, and execute transactions efficiently
Drive portfolio growth while maintaining sound credit quality and adherence to internal policies and risk standards
Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships through proactive coverage, cross‑selling, and strategic advisory conversations
Monitor portfolio performance, proactively identify risks, and participate in ongoing credit reviews and renewals
Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, venture capital activity, and competitive dynamics within the technology ecosystem
Represent the organization externally through networking, conferences, and industry forums
Uphold the organization’s standards for professionalism, integrity, and exceptional client service
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
7+ years of experience in relationship management, commercial banking, venture banking, or technology‑focused financial services
Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and revenue generation
Strong understanding of venture‑backed business models, cash‑flow dynamics, and growth‑stage risk considerations
Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and manage complex client needs
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Established professional network within the venture, technology, or startup ecosystem preferred
