Responsibilities
Works with Resident Engagement Director and residents to plan, coordinate and lead a wide scope of social and recreational activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity Plans off-campus trips for residents, and attends many of the trips Assists in arranging transportation to events and programs when necessary, including bus transportation and other vehicle transportation, scheduling community driver or outside resource Coordinator of the Community Garden Club. Works with ground crews to attain the best growing experience for residents Creates, posts, and/or distributes information and material regarding events, programs, activities, etc. Assists with purchasing necessary supplies, films, crafts, etc. Conducts an orientation for new residents, serves as a resource person for residents Alerts social services staff of concerns pertaining to residents Attend morning and evening meetings with items concerning the activity dept. Complete all administrative UDAs assigned and other assigned tasks before due date. Ability to adhere to MOD schedule and work one weekend every 2 months. Qualifications
Associates degree and two years experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration Experience in skilled nursing or healthcare Activity Director Role a must Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic Must be able to work with others in setting up for events Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
