Overview
$19.33 – $22.74 hourly. This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on an oral proficiency exam.

Summary of Role: Marion Polk Food Share seeks a motivated Communications Coordinator to lead content production to communicate the breadth and depth of the Food Share’s work and mission to bring people together to end hunger and its root causes.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining updated narrative, photos and program statistics for donor engagement, quarterly newsletter, and social media, in partnership with the Communications Manager.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain updated narrative, photos and program statistics for donor engagement, quarterly newsletter, and social media, in partnership with the Communications Manager.
Manage the Food Share’s physical brand through logo wear and both internal and external branded signage in the Food Share building.
Work with Communications Manager to maintain social media accounts, including post scheduling and message response.
Provide copywriting support for social media, press releases, newsletter articles, and the website with the ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging content for various platforms and audiences.
Create annual donor impact reports for Food Share program areas, gather necessary information and photos from program staff and participants to effectively communicate donor impact.
Develop and create monthly stewardship communications for leadership-level donors with the Communications Manager.
Create branded presentations and/or collateral for Food Share staff in community presentations and meetings.
Develop organizational tour materials and talking points; lead tours as needed.
Develop and maintain donor recognition communications and signage.
About Marion Polk Food Share
We are the regional food bank bringing people together to end hunger and its root causes in Marion and Polk Counties. Support from our local community enables the Food Share to collect and distribute nutritious food for children, adults, and seniors through more than 100 partner programs, including food pantries, meal sites and home-delivered meals, and to carry out programs addressing the root causes of hunger.

Job Conditions
This position requires some onsite work hours, however remote work options may be available for some of the schedule. Work may be performed at a workstation using a computer and telephone, and occasionally involve lifting objects over 30 pounds. Work may involve varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and travel. May require evenings and weekends and more than 40 hours per week during peak periods. The Food Share may require employees to report to work during local public health, weather, or environmental emergencies.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts OR equivalent experience preferred.
Proficient in Adobe Suite, Canva and video editing software.
Familiar with Meta Business Suite, SmugMug, and WordPress website management.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) and full background check, including eligibility to work with vulnerable populations.
Must pass driving record check and be insurable through Marion Polk Food Share’s vehicle insurance policy.
