The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the loan origination process by ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected, verified, and processed efficiently. This position requires strong mathematical skills, familiarity with financial software, and a thorough understanding of loan processing procedures.
Duties
Review loan applications and supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Verify applicant information, including employment history, creditworthiness, and financial status.
Calculate income and debt ratios using basic math skills to assess borrower eligibility.
Collaborate with loan officers to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies in applications.
Utilize financial software to input data and track the status of loan applications throughout the processing cycle.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) during the loan processing phase.
Maintain organized records of all transactions and communications related to loan applications.
Experience
Previous experience in loan processing or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with financial services terminology and processes is advantageous.
Proficiency in using financial software tools for managing loan applications.
Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
