Overview
Job Description: Pay Range: $21.93hr - $24.39hr
The Phlebotomist III – Floater serves as a Patient Services Representative responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing.
This role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring a safe and professional environment while following established procedures for specimen collection, labeling, and documentation.
The position requires flexibility to support multiple locations and maintain high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and operational accuracy.
Requirements
Ability to perform accurate and error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license if required.
Ability to travel and support multiple patient service locations as needed.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Experience
Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Experience with keyboard and data entry tasks.
Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from patients using proper venipuncture techniques.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and confirm specimen labeling in the presence of the patient.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
Ensure a safe, professional, and confidential environment for patients.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors and support process excellence initiatives.
Communicate procedures clearly to patients to build trust and confidence.
Support operations across multiple locations based on staffing needs.
Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
