Overview
De Soi is seeking a visionary, operator-minded VP of Marketing to lead the next chapter of brand and revenue growth. This role is a key member of the executive team, partnering with the founders and leadership to define and execute a long-term brand and growth strategy. You will oversee the full marketing ecosystem: brand, digital, retail, product marketing, trade, and partnerships — with full accountability for performance, team leadership, and cross-functional alignment. De Soi is at an inflection point. With strong distribution momentum, the next phase is to scale brand awareness and activate the footprint to drive velocity across all channels. We’re seeking a strategic marketing leader who can translate distribution into demand, build a nationally recognized brand, and lead the marketing engine required to support De Soi’s next stage of growth. This is a hybrid role based in Playa Vista (Tuesdays & Thursdays in-office).
What You’ll Own
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Define and evolve De Soi’s long-term brand vision and category positioning
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Serve as strategic thought partner to founders on brand equity, cultural relevance, and expansion opportunities
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Build and execute a 1–3 year marketing roadmap aligned to revenue, distribution, and enterprise value goals
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Translate brand ambition into measurable growth plans across DTC, Amazon, retail, and on-premise
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Act as the executive steward of brand voice, visual identity, storytelling, and experiential world-building
Executive Brand & Growth Leadership: Shape founder participation across launches, content, PR, retail activations, and collaborations
Revenue & Channel Ownership: Own full marketing P&L and budget allocation across channels
Revenue & Channel Ownership: Lead DTC (Shopify + Amazon) growth strategy, including CAC, LTV, retention, subscription, and profitability
Revenue & Channel Ownership: Build omnichannel strategy across retail, retail media, and on-premise
Revenue & Channel Ownership: Oversee trade marketing and retail storytelling in partnership with sales leadership
Revenue & Channel Ownership: Ensure marketing investments drive measurable velocity, sell-through, and sustainable margin
Product Innovation & Portfolio Strategy: Lead marketing input into product innovation pipeline and whitespace identification
Product Innovation & Portfolio Strategy: Partner on portfolio expansion, naming, packaging, positioning, and go-to-market sequencing
Product Innovation & Portfolio Strategy: Implement disciplined consumer research and insight development
Product Innovation & Portfolio Strategy: Ensure new product launches are brand-building and commercially viable
Team & Organizational Leadership: Lead and develop internal marketing team (currently 2 FTEs + contractors + agencies)
Team & Organizational Leadership: Evaluate org design as the business scales
Team & Organizational Leadership: Build systems, processes, and KPIs that elevate marketing performance
Team & Organizational Leadership: Manage agency ecosystem across paid media, creative, PR, Amazon, and influencer
Create a high-accountability, high-creativity culture
Who You Are Required
10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience
Experience scaling a celebrity-founded or personality-driven brand
Experience leading brand through rapid growth and/or category creation
Proven P&L ownership across DTC and retail channels
Experience managing teams and agencies at scale
Strong executive presence and ability to influence cross-functionally
Ideal
Experience in CPG, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or adjacent consumer categories
Deep understanding of influencer ecosystems and cultural marketing
Experience navigating both early-stage scrappiness and structured scaling
Strong intuition for brand world-building paired with data fluency
