Area Leader – Responsibilities

The Area Leader is responsible for effectively managing production activities for a specific area of the Plant, and developing collaborative partnerships with CP colleagues. He or she must deliver the agreed to business results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, customer service, area financial performance, Quality, Microbiology, EOHS, Labor Relations, people and team development. Responsibilities Include: Creates and maintains positive relationships and trust within the manufacturing facility. Manages the people, materials and equipment to deliver area performance objectives, as measured by Plant KPI's. Accountable for the quality, and productivity of the production area, and its ability to deliver high levels of service. Tracks and analyzes variances associated with materials, labor cost or finished products. Has overall financial responsibility of the specific area of the plant and is capable of articulating financial implications of suggested changes in the area. Ensures compliance with policies/procedures for crewing, shift rotation, vacation scheduling, temporary usage and training to meet business needs. Oversees the development and implementation of the daily production schedule. Works closely with the production planners to improve the plant’s overall service and cost. Identifies, recommends, and implements continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing cost reduction programs. Manages according to TPM Principles within the area. Develops strategies and development plans so that teams can advance in the process of meeting business results as needed in the category. Executes new technology within the production area. Makes recommendations on both capital and operating budgets. Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive, state, local, and federal guidelines related to EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory within area of responsibility. Communicates and implements the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy, and objectives within the Plant. Ensures effective communication, and resolves labor relations issues within the area. Empowers team members by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals, and delegation, to ensure the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities. Required Qualifications 4+ years of manufacturing plant experience 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting Ability to work flexible hours to meet business and manufacturing needs Preferred Qualifications Degree in a technical field such as Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field Previous experience and proficiency with SAP Proficiency in relationship building, managing production, managing materials and services, continuous improvement, and managing people/coaching Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $109,600.00 - $174,000.00 USD Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
