Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced
Business Analyst (8-10 years)
with strong expertise in the
mortgage industry
to act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of mortgage processes, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience in requirements gathering, SDLC, and API/Web Services-based applications. This role demands a
customer-centric mindset
and the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements, supporting the entire product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Act as an
interface between business stakeholders and technical teams , ensuring clear communication and alignment. Gather, document, and validate
business requirements
and translate them into
functional and technical specifications . Design
process flows and data flows
for mortgage-related systems and integrations. Prepare detailed
technical specifications
for APIs, web services, and integration components. Define
project objectives, conduct feasibility analysis , and support planning and execution activities. Write
user stories
that reflect both
business-driven functionality
and
technical capabilities . Support
development teams , including systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Develop and document
UAT strategies, test plans, test cases/scripts , and ensure proper execution. Provide
constructive support
to Product Owners and IT teams in product-related decision-making. Proactively encourage a
customer-centric mindset
and ensure alignment with organizational mission (e.g., Freddie Mac's goals). Apply
Modern Delivery practices
(Agile, Scrum, CI/CD mindset) to streamline workflows. Identify opportunities to
improve processes, efficiency, and team performance . Work with tools such as
Postman, SoapUI , or similar for API validation and testing. Participate in
manual and automation testing
activities as needed. Required Skills & Experience
8-10 years of total IT/BA experience , with a strong focus on the
mortgage industry . Proven experience across the
end-to-end SDLC
(requirement gathering → UAT). Strong expertise in:
Requirement gathering & analysis. Process & data flow design. Webservices / API specification design. Business & technical documentation.
Hands-on experience in
writing requirements for API-based applications . Proficiency with
API testing tools
such as Postman/SoapUI. Knowledge of
manual and automation testing . Experience in
Agile/Modern Delivery frameworks . Excellent
communication, documentation, and analytical skills . Strong ability to
translate business requirements into technical deliverables . Good to Have
Prior experience working with
Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, or other financial/mortgage enterprises . Familiarity with
regulatory compliance in mortgage industry . Knowledge of
automation testing frameworks .
