The Summer Internship Development Program at Versant Health is designed to help you explore your career, learn our business, and develop as a young professional. Throughout the course of this 8-week summer internship opportunity, you will engage in professional and career development workshops, attend fireside chat series with Versant Health’s senior leaders and complete a capstone project.

Versant Health: Making Healthy Vision a Reality for Everyone
Scope and Purpose of Position:
During the Summer Internship program, the intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the head of strategic communications to create, design, and produce internal content that helps further executive priorities and enhance the employee experience.
Location Requirements :
Virtual work assignment – open to any location, but if the candidate is in the metro Detroit area, there would be an opportunity for:
Occasional in-person sessions and coaching with direct management
A potential travel opportunity to support an internal networking event, contingent on event timing
Essential Functions:
Under the direction of the head of strategic communications, create content extending key messages across Versant Health’s internal channels
Manage content for ongoing initiatives and make updates to improve engagement on companywide intranet platform
Draft initial content and campaign outlines, inclusive of design concepts, to present to team and stakeholders for refinement and publication
Maintain and organize shared communications resources such as messaging documents, story libraries, graphics libraries, resources, and announcements
Support cohesive design and narrative integration across internal and external channels
Provide production support for 2 nd quarter virtual companywide quarterly Town Hall
Collaboratively work through communication review cycles with business owners and senior leaders
Support the marketing and communications team in daily administrative tasks.
Educational Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program
Master’s degree candidates also accepted
Preferred field of study: Communications (concentrations including strategic or corporate communications, communication management) and/or Marketing (concentrations that include digital content, digital marketing/strategy, content marketing)
Required undergrad school classifications: Current Juniors and Seniors only
Required GPA: 3.0 and above
Experience:
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs/applications (i.e., familiarity with SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneDrive or similar programs/applications such as Google Drive)
Experience in publishing content (i.e., articles, blogs, newsletters, etc.)
Basic knowledge ofdesign software/programs, especially Canva– Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus
Familiarity with virtual environments
(Preferred) Strong comfort level with web content management systems
Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion for the marketing or communications industry and its best practices
