The new application, STARS, is being developed to meet the changing needs of the department and taxpayers. The Department is seeking additional resources to assist existing staff with the different work streams involved in the conversion of this application. The approach by the vendor and Department will focus on one tax type at a time. 9 Job Description • Develop and maintain the overall testing strategy for data conversion, system interfaces, and application updates associated with the STARS system implementation. • Define test plans, test cases, and testing procedures covering unit testing, interface testing, integration testing, and regression testing activities. • Coordinate testing activities related to data extraction, cleansing, and conversion to ensure migrated tax data meets accuracy and integrity requirements. • Validate PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, batch jobs, and database objects developed for migration and integration activities. • Develop reconciliation validation processes and SQL-based verification queries to ensure consistency between legacy TAS data and the migrated STARS data. • Manage the defect lifecycle including defect identification, documentation, tracking, prioritization, and resolution coordination with development teams. • Support root cause analysis and verification of fixes for system defects identified during development and testing cycles. • Coordinate multiple testing cycles including unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing support, and regression validation. • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and technical leads to ensure testing activities align with documented technical design artifacts and business requirements. • Oversee testing related to system updates, interface implementations, and decommissioning of legacy tax types within the TAS system. • Support release management processes including packaging of code releases, validation of release readiness, and coordination of deployment activities. • Maintain testing documentation, defect reports, and test execution tracking within project management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO). • Validate that all deliverables and testing outcomes meet project acceptance criteria prior to milestone submission and system release. 10 Skill set info • 6+ years Software Testing and Quality Assurance Experience • Data Migration and Conversion Testing • SQL-Based Data Validation and Reconciliation • Testing of PL/SQL Scripts and Stored Procedures • Oracle Database Testing and Validation • Defect Lifecycle Management and Tracking • Test Strategy Development and Test Planning • Release Coordination and Deployment Validation • Azure DevOps (ADO) or Similar Test Management Tools • Experience with Financial or Tax Systems (Preferred) 11 Education N/ 12 Certifications (if required) N/ 13 Documentation Required for submission Resume & References 14 Work Hours General 16 Work authorization required US Citizen & GC 17 Relocation is accepted N/ 18 Remote work Yes 19 Additional Notes if any 100% Remote
