Summary
The Residential Mortgage Processor plays a crucial role in assisting Residential Lenders and their clients from the Origination phase to the Closing of loan files. This position requires gathering and reviewing documentation from borrowers and third parties to ensure compliance with product and program guidelines. As a Client Advocate, you will actively communicate through various channels, including telephone and email, to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Complete clerical and administrative tasks, including preparing and examining customer applications for residential real estate loans.
Verify and confirm the completeness and accuracy of applications.
Review the process and follow up on any missing documents from borrowers.
Request and assess information from third parties, such as Credit, AUS, and VOE.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of FNMA and Freddie Mac guidelines.
Prepare files for underwriting by ensuring that documentation provided by the MLO and/or client supports AUS findings and complies with investor requirements.
Follow up on underwriting conditions after the initial loan decision and resubmit loan files for final approval.
Maintain regular communication with Residential Loan Officers, applicants, and others involved in the transaction regarding the status of loan applications, thereby fostering strong customer relations and ensuring smooth and timely processing and closing transactions.
Address and resolve customer inquiries effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to handle detailed instructions under pressure and manage a higher volume of complex issues.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Mortgage Operations Manager.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent with knowledge comparable to two years of college education, alongside a minimum of two years of experience in administrative and government loan processing, including one year in conventional loan processing.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing straightforward correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills
Proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, along with interpreting bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Adept at addressing problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
The individual must have knowledge of word processing software and be familiar with computers to effectively use the Bank's systems for inputting and accessing loan data and generating loan processing documents accurately and efficiently.
Other Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current accepted underwriting guidelines for conventional and government loans. Proficiency in analyzing real estate contracts, financial statements, appraisals, tax returns, credit reports, and all other credit verifications.
