Summary
The Residential Mortgage Processor plays a vital role in facilitating the journey of clients from loan origination to closing. This position involves thorough documentation gathering and review, ensuring that all submissions meet relevant product and program guidelines. The Client Advocate is committed to maintaining clear communication through various channels, including phone and email, to address the needs of all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Perform clerical and administrative duties, preparing and reviewing applications for residential real estate loans.
Verify and confirm the completeness and accuracy of loan applications.
Conduct a thorough review of the process and follow up on any outstanding documents from borrowers.
Request and analyze information from third parties such as credit agencies, AUS, and verification of employment.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of FNMA and Freddie Mac guidelines.
Prepare files for underwriting by ensuring all documentation aligns with the findings from the MLO and satisfies investor requirements.
Monitor and resolve any underwriting conditions following the initial loan decision and resubmit files for final approval.
Maintain open communication with Residential Loan Officers, applicants, and others involved in the transaction, promoting positive customer relations and smooth processing of real estate closings.
Handle customer inquiries with accountability and efficiency.
Manage detailed instructions effectively under pressure and address complex issues with ease.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Mortgage Operations Manager.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, along with a general knowledge level similar to two years of college education. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of administrative experience in government loan processing and one year of experience in conventional loan processing.
Language Skills
The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Strong writing skills for correspondence, and the capability to effectively present information in individual and small group settings to customers and colleagues.
Mathematical Skills
Competence in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing across various units of measure, including the use of whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions. Skill in addressing problems involving a small number of concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
A successful candidate will have knowledge of word processing software and familiarity with computers to effectively use the Bank's systems for inputting and accessing loan data and generating loan processing documents accurately and efficiently.
Other Skills and Abilities
Thorough understanding of current, generally accepted guidelines for conventional and government loan underwriting. Proficiency in handling standard conventional and government loan documents. Strong analytical skills for evaluating real estate contracts, financial statements, appraisals, tax returns, credit reports, and all forms of credit verification.
