This position is based in Chicago and will involve a combination of remote and in‑office work. This role also requires travel to multiple markets to support client activations.

Summary The Creative Strategy team is a discipline of the creative department responsible for managing how creative deliverables are imagined, presented and executed. Strategists at EA play a highly collaborative role that must work cross‑functionally among many specialized creative, production, digital, and client services positions to craft a brand experience from start to finish.

The Creative Strategist is the day‑to‑day strategy lead of a project and contributes to its overall creative deliverables, ensuring all is achieving client and agency goals/objectives. A Creative Director will oversee and drive creative decisions and timeline, as the strategist collaborates on the ground level with the other creative leads to ideate and develop concepts thoughtfully. Specifically, they focus on concept development, while also bringing in other creative team members into the fold to bring a creative vision to life for internal stakeholders and clients.

They can lead the day‑to‑day development of various creative deliverables that the projects require, specifically honing in on areas like event themes, attendee journeys, experiential activities, and content development. Working with Creative Directors and Art Directors, strategists will contribute to the creation of creative briefs that guide the creative teams, source inspiration for their ideas and participate in feedback sessions to push deliverables forward.

Responsibilities

Fulfills lead or support creative strategist role on select live projects and new business RFP's.

Delivers creative brand experiences that are:

Cohesive and memorable for target audiences, always striving for ownable if new is taken

Foundationally true to the client brand’s ethos and aura, as an effective spoke within their marketing plan

Strategically leveraging Agency EA’s suite of creative capabilities

Leads creative ideation and synthesis of concepts in collaboration with the project team.

Leads the development of proposals and client‑facing planning presentations, ensuring the creative meets EA standards.

Manages the overall creative package being delivered to ensure it meets all client and agency goals/objectives (supports timeline development and project management for creative deliverables).

Communicates tasks and deliverables proficiently with a cross‑departmental team (Client Services, Business Development, Production and Creative).

Engages and collaborates with various creative roles, disciplines, vendors, etc. (e.g. CD, strategy, spatial, graphic, editor, motion, fabricator, producer, etc.) throughout the lifecycle of the project in order to execute creative deliverables effectively (e.g. consideration of budget, logistics, timeline, etc.).

Presents creative strategy deliverables to internal stakeholders and clients where relevant.

Assists in occasional quoting for some creative elements.

Facilitates shares and/or learnings to the strategy team.

Keeps a regular pulse on industry trends, ideas and event technology and looks for inspiration in all the places.

Promotes superior file management and organizational methodology following department guidelines.

Reports to Group Creative Director.

Qualifications

BA or equivalent required in a relevant major (e.g. advertising, creative writing, marketing, communications, etc.).

3-5 years of industry experience with a dynamic portfolio that showcases creative brand expressions and engagements.

Experience with concept ideation, including brainstorm facilitation and creative writing.

Polished client presentation and pitch experience, in both verbal and visual (deck) presentation development.

Proficient in collaborating with a variety of creative disciplines (e.g. graphic and motion designers, spatial designers, copywriters, strategists, video editors, etc.)

Understands the value of a cross‑functional team and actively seeks new information to problem‑solve any situation.

A proven ability to work on multiple projects at once, concepting and creating for a wide range of brands, audiences and industries.

Strong ability to develop timelines and project manage creative deliverables within assigned projects.

Must be a self‑motivated, clear communicator and consensus builder, highly organized and detail‑oriented.

High proficiency in: Apple OS + Keynote, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite (bonus: Adobe Creative Suite).

Comfortable working in a demanding, fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines.

Strong active listening skills — the ability to interpret information and turn it into actionable next steps.

Must be able to travel if needed and work occasional nights/weekends.

Compensation will be based on experience and will range from $60,000 to $75,000.
