
Associate Merchant (HO) - Fishing Bait

Position Summary
As a key partner to the merchandising organization, you will support category growth across stores and eCommerce by driving strong supplier relationships, flawless item execution, and data‑backed business decisions. In this role, you will:
Supplier & Category Operations
Support merchants during supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories/subcategories.
Resolve supplier issues and assist with new supplier setup for both stores and online.
Collect and validate item information to ensure accurate and timely item setup.
Customer & Shopper Experience
Execute customer communication and education initiatives across stores.
Partner with the modular team to enhance the in‑store experience.
Manage search queries, product page accuracy, and taxonomy compliance for online categories.
Collaborate with Site Merchandising on homepage campaigns and implement search rules that improve discoverability.
Omnichannel Business Support
Analyze customer behavior across channels to understand demand trends and buying patterns.
Guide suppliers and vendors in creating customer‑focused processes and product solutions.
Budgeting, Reporting & Forecasting
Track performance against financial targets and create sales reports to assess subcategory results.
Support forecasting activities and contribute insights for subcategory‑level budgets.
Partner with planning and analytics teams to align financial and inventory strategies.
Features, Promotions & Modular Execution
Develop and execute approved feature proposals for both stores and online.
Support monthly category feature themes and modular strategy decisions.
Assist with modular walkthroughs, post‑walkthrough adjustments, and corporate quantity recommendations.
Data & Digital Acumen
Use data tools to run basic analyses, uncover insights, and deliver clear visual reports.
Support technology improvements that enhance category operations and efficiency.
Item Setup, Maintenance & Pricing
Support decisions around item configuration, cross‑referencing, and sample management for imagery.
Contribute pricing recommendations and support COOP agreement management.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Build strong partnerships with merchants, suppliers, planners, analytics teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Identify business needs, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement.
Apply up‑to‑date knowledge to improve processes, support decision‑making, and champion customer‑first solutions.

Ability to interpret customer insights and apply them to category decisions.
Experience using data tools and visualization platforms to create clear, actionable reporting.

Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock.
