Technical Writer (Contract)

This is a Remote role.
Compensation: $45 per hour
Contract with potential for full-time conversion
ABOUT THE ROLE
Medasource is seeking two Technical Writers on a contract basis to support documentation initiatives for automation equipment and operational procedures. In this role, you will develop and update technical service manuals, operational documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring all materials align with internal quality, regulatory, and formatting standards. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to translate complex systems, processes, and workflows into clear, concise, and structured documentation. The position requires maintaining version control, updating existing SOPs to new templates, and ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance. Training will be provided to support onboarding to systems and processes. This remote or hybrid position may require brief onsite travel and offers the potential for full-time conversion. Candidates must be able to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Develop technical service and operations manuals for automation equipment Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for service and operational processes related to equipment Update and convert existing SOP documentation to align with new documentation templates and formatting standards Work with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy Translate complex systems, processes, and workflows into clear, concise written documentation Ensure documentation meets internal quality, regulatory, and formatting standards Maintain organized documentation and version control throughout the documentation process WHAT YOU BRING
Experience writing technical documentation, service manuals, or SOPs for technical systems or equipment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written communication and documentation skills Experience working with structured documentation templates and formatting standards Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders Experience supporting automation platforms, laboratory equipment, medical devices, or other complex hardware systems (preferred) Experience working in regulated environments (preferred) Familiarity with SOP development and controlled documentation processes (preferred) Ability to sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
